Toronto Naturopathic doctor speaks about Bioidentical Hormones. A case for Natural Medicine?

As of late, many women and even some men are becoming attuned to the revolutionary wonder of the advancement of bioidentical hormones. The reality is that these hormones sound much more complicated than they actually are. These bioidentical hormones are also referred to as natural hormone therapy or bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) and are defined as hormones that are identical to the hormones that are naturally found in an individuals body.

The great thing is that these bioidentical hormones are found in yams and soy, so they are readily abundant and easily instituted. This is a great development in medical technology since these bioidentical hormones are actually able to replicate the natural hormones in an individuals body when they have stopped producing them in excess.

There are several types of bioidentical hormones found and from which are readily referred to and they include bioidentical estrogen, bioidentical progesterone, bioidentical testosterone, etc. The production of estrogen in a women's body slows down after menopause, so a woman adding in a bioidentical form of estrogen is a wonderful thing if she happens to be experiencing decreases of estrogen in her body due to menopause.

It is said that an individuals body cannot tell the difference between a natural occurring hormone in the body and a bioidentical hormone, since both are identical in molecular biology. People report that they like using bioidentical hormones for a variety of reasons including anti-aging relief, a better quality of life, and also the improvement for menopausal symptoms as a whole. While a majority of individuals appreciate the availability of bioidentical hormones, there are some people who are not in favor bioidentical hormones since it has been shown that these hormones could have a tendency to contribute to medical problems such as cardiovascular disease and/or heart attack or stroke.
