At the
Pinewood Health Care Institute, we take your questions about our hybrid program
of HCG injections and accompanying restricted calorie diet very seriously. Over
the years we have noted the issues that seem to concern clients the most and
created this brief compendium of answers to address your concerns.
Will I feel exhausted
or starved while on this diet?
After you
are given your first HCG injection, your body is going to start burning fat. Often
this fat is stored in the liver. That fat has to have somewhere to go, so aside
from gathering in your bowels for elimination you will also find it entering
your bloodstream. Often there are
toxins, chemicals and metals stored in these fats and you might experience
headaches, a lack of energy and hunger pangs.
If this happens, ask us for
advice about how to best treat these symptoms. This is not to say that you
should expect these symptoms as a side effect as every person who is on this
program reacts a bit differently.
Sometimes it is not the fat release that causes you to feel tired.
Sometimes it is withdrawal symptoms from going without sugar, alcohol or caffeine.
What happens if I
don’t see weight loss on the scale?
If you do
not see a definitive weight loss on the scale then get out the measuring tape
try measuring yourself. The hormone in the injection has a way of shaping and
sculpting your body so that you lose inches rather than pounds. Also if you are exercising you may also be
gaining lean muscle mass as you do the program and muscle weighs slightly more
than the fat pounds that you might be losing.
How can I make
drinking water a little more interesting?
Drinking
plain water all day can be a bit boring for some people. You can perk up the
taste a bit by adding no more than a tablespoon of lemon juice to ten ounces of
water. You can also flavour the water with stevia or packaged flavouring agents
as long as it does not contain aspartame.
Do I continue taking
my regular vitamins while on this program?
Every
client has an individual profile that profiles nutritional needs as well as
what supplements they were on before they started the program. The best thing to do is ask Dr. Rahman or
your other Pinewood Health Clinic professional which is best for you.
May I drink alcohol
while I am on this program?
Alcohol is
forbidden while you are on your 28-day to 40-day regimen of shots. After that
you must wait at least three weeks after taking the shots to consume any
alcohol or sugar. If you do want to
start drinking again your best choice of cocktail is vodka with club soda and a
twist of lime.
May I eat whatever I
want after I am done receiving all of my HCG injections?
After your
course of injections is done it is best for you to continue to following the
diet for at least three days. You will then be given a follow-up diet that
teaches you to eat more protein and vegetables and less starchy foods.
Are there long terms
effects to HCG?
There are
no known long-term side-effects to using HCG shots except that you may experience
unexpected permanent weight loss!
